A week ago, Angie called and asked if Im available on 30th April as she wanted to book me for the entire day to celebrate my birthday. She said its gona be a 2 person event blah blah blah… She is never good at keeping things from me but this time, I gotto say she did a pretty good job. The Amazing Race??? Nah, mine is even better. I call it The Amazing Birthday Marathon…
My Itinerary:
Destination: all over Singapore
Date: Sun, 30th April 2006
Flight No: MC010579
10.30am:
Limousine Pick up at my doorstep… hey, there aint no Limo Bud!!?! Angie and Jenny to pick me up at my place. Ok gals, im really sorry. My alarm didnt work and I woke up at 10.45am!!! Super duper late!!! By the time im ready, its 11.30pm already! Shit! Sorry sorry sorry… Anyway, I was given a choice to either get blindfolded or to simply close my eyes on the journey to the secret destination. I didnt have a problem closing my eyes and taking a nap. Angie and Jen even bribed the taxi driver and got him to cover the mini monitor (that shows the location etc) with a cloth!!! hahaha
12pm:
Arrived at One Rochester, this place is simply beautiful and mesmerizing. Still clueless on whats going on… till the waitress led us inside and I was greeted with familiar faces and a birthday cake!!! There was Sharon, Joanne and Ting… singing me a birthday song along with Angie and Jen. Awwww… everything was taken care of… my food, drinks, super chocolatey cake… was given the ultimate royal treatment! I couldnt stop laughing in joy…
3pm:
Off to my 2nd surprise! I was like what?! Another surprise? Angie goes: “YES! Now stop asking and follow!” hahaha… Joanne isnt feeling well and went home to rest while Sharon has to attend her grandmother’s birthday.
3.40pm:
Arrived in Bishan. Shopped a little, rest and drank coke at Mac Donalds. I wonder whats in store for me…
4.55pm:
Going to catch a movie ‘Aquamarine’. Didnt think I will actually watch this show when I first caught a glimpse of the preview on TV. Still, as long as Im with my darlings, I guess watching any movie would be fun. Verdict? Touching and funny, with some marvelous laugh-out-loud moments. Its definitely a watch-with-your-girlfriends-movie.
7pm:
My last and final surprise according to Angie. Yes, I fell for it when she said: “Its finally our time alone together. Remember my birthday last year? We had ktv together and had helluva fun? I thought it will be nice for us to do it again, this time on your birthday.” I loved the idea since I have been bugging her to go sing with me. We met Dude along the way and Im pretty sure he is involved in the final surprise. He kept telling me that he is on his way for a meeting up with his friends and they are all late etc etc… I didnt buy his story of cos. I was almost fooled by his good acting skills when he kept checking his hp during the ktv session and cursing his friends away for being so late.
8.30pm:
Dom appeared with a mini bouquet!!! I was screaming with joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9.20pm:
Dude says he has to leave now to meet his friends. I was a little disappointed as I watched him leave the room.
9.30pm:
Dude barged into the ktv room with a birthday cake!!! OMG!!! As they were singing the birthday song, I cannot help feeling blissful. Tiramisu cake… yummy…
11pm:
Home sweet Home as Dude has soccer the next morning and Angie is completely wasted after the whole marathon!
12am:
I was chatting with Angie on the phone when I heard Dom singing “Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you… la la laaaah…” he came walking out from the kitchen with another birthday cake!!! Im definitely not complaining…… this is my BEST birthday ever… 3 cakes in a day, not forgetting all the surprises that came along with it…
A BIG thank you to my darlings…Sharon, Joanne, Ting, Jenny, Dude, Dom and especially my bud, Angie. This is definitely my most memorable birthday. Love yall…
