We heart this boy sooooooooo much. Our Umar darling turns 1 and I erm…turns 3-0. Hahaha… we had a sumptuous meal at Breeks. Umar is soooooo cute, we really believe he recognizes us already and the good thing is he finally accepted D!!! hahahaha… D is sooooo happy Umar isn’t crying nor rejecting him. They hugged and played and D can even carry him around the shopping mall. Umar lost weight and looks soooo handsome in his polo tee. We got him 2 birthday gifts; a toy from Fisherprice and a Winnie the Pooh jumper from Fox. =]
I was shopping at Fox kids and saw soooooo many nice stuffs and went mad. I saw this UBER cute loafer aka lazy man shoes for babies. I can soooo picture my kid in a short jumper wearing those checkered loafer walking around… awwww…
Thank you dear for planning it all… thank you Mr Chia for being our driver. =]
I was feeling very nuah on 1st May 09. Guess my body is still recovering from the deadly viral fever. Dear wanted to bring me shopping before dinner but I wasn’t up for it so dear decided to pop over my place 1st in the evening then to dinner. She was checking online and found this nice makan place to bring me to… Beaulieu House, Sembawang Park. The place looks very nice and the ambience is good. The only bad point is the place is a little too dark and we had to use flashes on all the pics we took. We ordered ‘Tie Ban Tofu’, thai chicken, black pepper fish and sambal kang kong. Come to think of it, all the dishes we ordered were spicy!!! LOL The Chia’s are BIG fan of the chilli! Hahaha All my close friends know I’m the carnivorous and I’m no fan of the veggies BUT this sambal kang kong is a killer! It is sooooooooo appetizing and delicious I cannot stop eating it!
My surprise Opera Cake – Swissbake from dear was delicious. After that we headed to Sembawang Shopping Center to chill out and have my favourite Starbucks! Dear presented me with another mini surprise… a mini sheep plushie and a birthday card. =] I know I have said this a million times but I still am very, very grateful to be out of the hospital. I shouldn’t be lazy and should start blogging and recommending all the places I have dined. Lazy lazy…
Since D is working this Sat, I was thinking what I would like to eat and guess what?? I decided to cook! LOL ya, you heard me. C-O-O-K. I think I am seriously sick of eating out. So, I’ve come up with innovative smart cooking. Work Smart not Work Hard, same goes for cooking. Cook Smart not Cook Hard. haha
I’ve always wanted to try the carbonara sauce and since D never really like cheesy/creamy stuff, I decided to try it myself. At the same time, I wanted to surprise D and cook him his favorite… Curry Chicken! Hahaha… I bought A1 instant curry sauce, coconut milk, potatoes and chicken breast meat. Wanted to add bean curd, quail eggs, chicken wings etc but decided to just try it out with 2 of our fav ingredients and have something simple 1st. I have been trying to learn cooking from my mama every now and then, if my schedule allows. So far, I’ve already learned 2 dishes; Curry Chap Chye (I’ve already cooked this dish twice and both times, I forgot to take a pic! Darn) and Loh Ba. I prefer baking and making desserts more than cooking and I regretted not having an oven. But hey, its not how you cook it, it’s the EFFORT behind it. So despite its already-made-DIY curry, it’s the thought that matters. Coming from me, I know D is gona be so touched he is gona end up cleaning the dishes and kitchen again! LOL LOL LOL
My lunch! Carbonara with extra ham that I added. Yums…
Our very delicious and sooooo very yummy Curry Chicken!
D said this to me “Darling, I am sooooo proud of you. Thank you for doing this for me. Though its DIY sauce, it’s definitely the effort. At least you are into cooking now.” I believe the key words are ‘Do it every now and then and not all the time.’ Cos your man will treasure this more. Who says it’s a must for women to cook? PLEASE. Why shouldn’t the men help out too? I’m not implying on my baby, he is PERFECT… almost. Awww… hahaha
A long over due picture of the 1st time I cooked Chicken Mushroom pasta with Honey Glazed Chicken and Pepper ribs for D. hehehe
P/ssssss: D really cleaned and washed all the dishes again. ~smirks~
Bud and I came a long long way. For her 2009 birthday I thought I will surprise her with her 1st branded item… Coach is all I can afford for now as we are saving for our 10th anniversary trip. 10yrs of ups and downs with mini hiccups along the way but we survived and am a lot stronger. I believed it’s all written. I love you bud. Thanks for always being here for me, for knowing me best and for believing in me. Wanted to get her a wallet since the previous Fossil one I got her is a little old but decided on this Coach Coin purse since it has a combination of all her favourite colors and I really wanted her to have a branded item. Got bud a flower power birthday card with flower power wrapping papers along with a cheesy furry tiara.
Benson suggested cooking for Angie and I planned the surprise etc… She thought we are going out on a normal weekend and that we are celebrating her actual birthday on her actual day. Benson and D woke up 9ish and went to the market while I continue sleeping. LOL thanks guys. Chef Benson is cooking chili crab, baby wanted to make Sichuan soup but not enough time thus he helped me with my curry chap chye aka curry vegetables and dear made fried wanton. We bought so many ingredients for my curry chap chye, so much till we don’t even have much space left in the pot before the rest are added!?! We divided and cooked 2 pots instead! Luckily we have enough prawn chili paste and coconut milk. Since we are playing mahjong after the whole party, we can have the other pot for dinner. I am quite proud of the end result, tasted really yummy. I am gona start learning more dishes from my mum like her famous mee hoon, fried rice, yam cake, carrot cake, potato soup, shanghai soup…etc etc hahahaha… making me drool already.
Brother bought live crabs and slaughtered them right in my kitchen! I didn’t dare watch. Hahaha… D was screaming at him (in the funny tone) “faster, one knife down and kill the crab…don’t cut here and there suffering leh…” LOL LOL LOL I snapped a pic for memory and left the kitchen! We had so much fun “fighting” in the kitchen! Dear came around 1ish to help out.
Bud was late cos she went Icekimo to buy us ice-cream. She wanted to surprise us as I have been nagging for ice-cream. Thanks lah bud…She opened the door and we shouted SURPRISE! She was shocked! We sang her a birthday song and she said she has never seen a cake that look just like her… same hairstyle, same round shaped face wearing a cross. LOL we presented her with our made with love lunch and she was sooo touched and happy she couldn’t stop smiling. ~PRICELESS~ She loved all the food we prepared. She bought durian, belgian choc and nutella ice cream from Icekimo. The 5 of them loves durian. Even better, I shall have all the choc to myself! LOL I shall let the pictures do all the talking …
Dear and Jayvier went ‘par-tor’ and so the 4 of us started our favourite hobby; MAHJONG! Heng heng me… never lose… BenBen won… D and bud lost badly… hahahaha… I’m on half day tomorrow. Spending time with bud since it’s her actual birthday. Going to re-touch my star too! It is damn damn addictive and I really want another star and another 2 different tattoo that I’ve already drawn. If it wasn’t for my upcoming trip, I would have gotten another tattoo already. We’ll see about the star… maybe I’ll add just one more? Heheeeee…
Rimah has recording at 8ish and so I thought ok lah, by the time she is done, it will be around 9pm and I will be able to head home with her. I have tons of work to rush anyway and so I bought this mashed potato with sausage, frozen microwave food, for dinner. Had to OT in style! LOL anyway, my dinner turns out superb and the smell made Rimah and Weiting drool. I was kind enough to share a small mouthful with them. HAHAHAHA! The portion is really small but good enough to ease the hunger. D was really sweet and when I called him, he told me he will cook me mee goring if I’m still hungry when I get home. I left work around 9.45pm. Brain juice dry, body stiff, face cramp, brain DEAD.

When I got home ard 10.20ish, baby cooked me mee goring while I was showering. Nothing beats this. Sweetest ever.

D and I decided to get a new steamboat since our Kenwood died on us. We still have some Robinson vouchers left and decided to head to Centrepoint to see what we can get. I love spending time with baby. We bought a steamboat that has a divider in the center so this year we can have both tom yam and chicken soup! Yey!
We had New York New York for lunch and I love my Spaghetti Mushroom Chicken Alfred, S$14.90. The portion is so big and baby said mine is definitely worth the money. I love what I ordered, very tasty.

D ordered a Hawaii Teriyaki Chicken, S$13.90. I tried this on my 1st visit with Dear at the AMK outlet. Very tasty as well and D said he likes it.

We have a Aussino voucher worth S$50 from my dearest godson parents for Xmas, thanks mama and bang. =0) As the outlet is having a 40% sale, we paid only $4 for the very beautiful Quilt and pillow set. We didn’t need to get the bedsheet as Bud got us a nice basic set for Xmas.
D didn’t look too happy after all the spendings. LOL

Love recommended this HKG cafe at Bishan Junction 8 named Wan Chai HKG Tea Room. She said the food ain’t too bad and after seeing their menu, I decided to try their Shrimp Dumpling Soup Noodle. I was hoping it will be as good as the one I had in Tang Chao, HKG.

I am rather impressed with their Shrimp Dumpling Soup Noodle, S$5.00. It tasted really good and for a moment, I thought I was at Tang Chao.

Love’s Wanton Soup Noodle, S$5.00, tasted not too bad either.

I ordered a Mango Ice-cream Sago, S$4.00, and was rather disappointed. It’s not that nice and I guess eversince I had ‘Xiu Liu Shan’, this super famous mango dessert in HKG, mango never tasted the same again. ~winks~

Christmas Day 25.12.08, at my crib with the usual gang; dear n huby, Benson, Hanwen and Bud. Im very happy cos this is the 1st time Bud celebrated Xmas with me on the actual day itself. She is usually busy with family celebrations and church activities on this big day.
This is actually my best Christmas ever! I feel super blessed and loved. Very fulfilling celebrations since 24th Dec till 26th with all my love ones. I would love to blog more but I’m really tired so I am gona just post up pics 1st and fill in the blanks when my brain is up and working.
Babe and I went to NYNY AMK Hub for our Xmas dinner… I seem to be a frequent eater there… hahahaha… anyhow, it’s my 1st visit with Belle.
We had a good time eating, cam whoring as usual, and catching up. She totally surprised me with her gifts! I’ve always wanted a pair of earphones for when I’m watching Gossip Girl on my lappy, I always have to compete volume with D! LOL Belle got me a striking green one and I absolutely love it. Thanks babe. I have been taking this super duper bitter TCM medicine aka poison, I never never expected Belle to surprise me with something sooooooo very sweet and thoughtful! She bought me my favourite M&M peanut butter chocolates and put them in a jar she decorated. She then told me this: “TCM is yucky! Therefore for every yucky time you go thru, I’m in the form of an M&M to keep you company.” I am seriously touched babe. Thank you so much. I was soooo touched; you should have captured it in pics. LOL this present is soooo very thoughtful, sweet and warm. This will really bring a smile to my face after each yucky TCM. Hugs…
I’m equally happy you love your surprises. I can tell you loved it lots too! I’m sorry you have to hold back surprise number 2 and not reveal it yet. On 26th itself, you may reveal, upload pics and blog about it ok? =0) After dinner and 2nd round, D picked us up and we had a full of laughter ride back. D was happily exposing my deeds to Belle while she laughs and teases me badly… LOL…
