The Art of The Brick – Is here in Singapore!!!

I first read about Nathan Sawaya and his Lego bricks exhibition last year Aug 2012 and in my blog post, I wished he would someday hold his exhibition here and it came true! He finally came to Singapore on 17 November 2012 and you are in luck for the exhibition is extended till 26 May 2013! I am so in awe with his creations and captions behind each piece.

I am also loving the background effects that were incorporated, making his art piece even more outstanding. For instance, on this swimmer piece, I love the reflections used to create the water effect. It brings out the entire feel, as though the swimmer is really swimming in a pool. By the way, can you believe Nathan took only 15 days to finish this piece?!!

Unlike most people, New York-based artist Nathan Sawaya never stopped building, creating and exploring his own imagination using LEGO® bricks which he has played with since a young age.

In this critically acclaimed and the first major museum exhibition to use LEGO bricks as the sole art medium, Sawaya transforms them into awe-inspiring and thought-provoking sculptures, elevating the toy to the realm of art.

The Art of the Brick at ArtScience Museum will be the biggest yet, showcasing 52 sculptures including the iconic sculpture Yellow, a 6-meter long T-rex dinosaur skeleton, and – to be unveiled for the first time – a sculpture of ArtScience Museum.

I would love to show you every piece he created but decided to tempt you with some so that you will head to the exhibition instead! Enjoy!

There is also the LEGO foot reflexology that you should totally try! It is so fun and yes, PAINFUL!
